Message templates

Lifecycle events, editable bodies and template variables.

Every message CODGuard sends is driven by a template you can edit, per event and per channel.

Lifecycle events

ORDER_PLACED · ORDER_DISPATCHED · OUT_FOR_DELIVERY · COD_VERIFICATION · ABANDONED_CHECKOUT · ADDRESS_UPDATE_REQUEST · PARTIAL_PAYMENT_REMINDER · DELIVERY_ATTEMPT · FEEDBACK

Each event supports an SMS and a WHATSAPP body, with {variable} placeholders substituted at send time.

Known templates

  • OTP — variable {otp}. WhatsApp delivery uses the approved Meta template verifynumber.
  • Address update — WhatsApp template order_address_update_2, with body parameters {customerName}, {storeName} and {orderNumber}, plus a CTA button carrying the link token.

Writing them

WhatsApp templates require Meta approval before they can be used, so plan copy changes ahead of a campaign rather than the morning of one.

Keep messages short and identify your store in the first line. A shopper who cannot tell within three words which store a message came from will ignore it, and you have paid for it either way.
